Purple Tulips

Completed - 2003
Size - 24 x 24 "
Pieced and machine quilted by myself.
Backing is a darker purple.

This wall hanging / centerpiece is from a kit purchased at Joanne's.  I had the kit for a few years before actually sewing it.  It is a good thing I put a label on this one as I didn't realize it was that long ago that it was completed.

Purple Centerpiece 2

Completed - 2011
Size - 17.5 "
Pieced and machine quilted by myself.
Backing is a soft purple flower.

This design is made by cutting a row printed fabric and laying the pieces together.  The technique was taught to us at the Guild by Karen Thiesen.

Purple Centerpiece 1

Completed - 2011
Size - 28.5"
Pieced and machine quilted by myself.
Backing is soft purple flowers.

Karen Thiesen taught the Guild this technique.  You take material that has a row pattern and how you cut it, you get these designs.  You cut the material to make a table runner, and with the leftover pieces, you get these wonderful center pieces.

Chicken Placemats

Completed - Winter 2012
Size - 12 x 14.5"
Pieced and machine quilted by myself.

This is a set of 4 placemats.  Each placemat has a slightly different chicken on it.  Made from a pre-printed panel.

These are for sale as a set - $48.00

Autumn Table Runner

Completed - Fall 2012
Size - 13.5 x 37"
Pieced and machine quilted by myself.
Backing is a mixture of the same fabric on the front, but in rows.

This table runner was made from leftovers from a Quilt I was commissioned to make.  The block is a crazy 9 patch.  This is a nice table runner for the fall.

This quilt is for sale - sold.

Christmas Twirl Runner

Completed - Winter 2012
Size = 15 x 40 "
Pieced and machine quilted by myself.
Backing is green with gold snowflakes.

This is one of my favorite patterns - tessellations.  It was taught at one of our Guild meetings.  Unfortunately, when I was piecing this one together, I was having some problems with the tension on my sewing machine.  So the stitches on this runner are not the greatest.  But once I finished the machine quilting on it (after the machine was fixed), you can barely notice the issue with the other stitches.

Halloween Placemats

Completed - Fall 2012
Size - 12 x 16.5"
Pieced and machine quilted by myself.
Backing is orange with black spider webs.

This was fun to do.  It was made from material that had this pattern in rows.  I made 6 placemats but gave one to my Grandson who loves it.  So I have 5 left.

Halloween Centerpiece

Completed - Fall 2012
Size - 17" round
Pieced and machine quilted by myself.
Backing is orange with black spider webs.

This was done using a fabric with the pattern in rows.  The technique was taught to the Guild by Karen Thiesen.  It is fun to do.  You make the table runner and then with the pieces you cut off for the runner, you re-piece them again for the centerpiece.

Size - 15.5 x 50"
Pieced and machine quilted by myself.
Back is orange with black spider webs.

This table runner technique was taught to the Guild by Karen Thiesen.  Fun and easy to do.  The trick is deciding how to cut the rows to get the result you want.

Triangle Tricks

Finished size = 90 " x 90".
Pieced and quilted by myself.

This pattern was taught one evening at the Quilter's Guild by Evelyn Smaltz.  No triangles are sewn for this block.  It is done with squares and rectangles, and the way you cut the finished blocks, you get the triangles. Due to the size of this quilt, I did the machine quilting in strips, then sewed the strips together.  Made it much easier to handle the quilting.

This is one of a few quilts that is used in my home.  My husband helped me lay out the finished blocks to create the overall pattern.  I must say, that he is a fan of my quilting :)

Jelly Fish Blues

Completed - Spring 2013
Finished size = 80" x 64 " Suitable for a single or double bed.
Pattern is a 4-patch posy.  Similar to a stack and whack or kaleidoscopic pattern.
Pieced and machine quilted by myself.
Backing is the same fabric as the sashing and borders.

I first saw this pattern at a Quilt Till You Wilt evening.  A lady there was doing one and I really liked it, so made one myself.  This is actually one of two 4-patch posy quilts I made.

This quilt has been sold.

Sudoku Quilt

Completed - Spring 2013
Size - 48 x 48"
Pieced and machine quilted by myself
Backing is the same material used in the sashing and border.

This quilt was made from a kit that was given to me by a friend.  It came with the nine different fabrics and you had to complete the Sudoku puzzle  to get the layout of the blocks.  As I am hooked on Sudoku puzzles, this was a lot of fun for me.

This lap quilt is for sale.  $180.00
